It is considered to be a designer breed, and was bred to combine the best qualities of both parent breeds. Bernedoodles are highly intelligent, loyal, and have a friendly disposition. They are generally low-shedding, so they are great for people with allergies. Bernedoodles enjoy a wide variety of activities, such as running, swimming, and playing fetch. They also respond very well to training and can easily learn basic as well as more advanced behaviors.
The Bernedoodle coat is known for being a combination of its parent breeds, the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle. It is usually curly, wavy, or wiry and enhances its namesake by having white and black patches in the coat. The Bernedoodle's coat generally sheds minimally, making it the perfect companion for those who don't want to deal with pesky fur clean-up. The coat is also hypoallergenic, non-shedding, and low-maintenance, meaning it requires very little upkeep.
