A Bernedoodle is a designer, crossbreed dog created by a combination of breeding a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. This popular hybrid has become a very sought-after breed among many dog lovers. Popular for its intelligence, happy temperament, and distinguished black, white, and brown fur, the Bernedoodle also has the added advantage of inheriting the low-shedding coat from the Poodle. In addition, Bernedoodles have an equal capacity to thrive in a variety of different environments and settings, from city living to country living.
Bernedoodles are low-shedding as they inherit the non-shedding characteristics of their Poodle parent and the Bernese Mountain Dog's low-shedding coat. With proper grooming and nutrition, Bernedoodles are an ideal pet for those who are not interested in the high-maintenance of shedding or the mess associated with a shedding breed. While there is no guarantee of a non-shedding breed, the predictability of this cross-breed's genetic traits allows for greater accuracy in estimating coat shedding.
