Bernedoodles are loyal, smart, and friendly—all traits that can be attributed to both the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle—making them great family companions. They enjoy spending time indoors and outdoors, and benefit from daily walks and mental stimulation to keep their strong intelligence occupied.
The Bernedoodle coat is an attractive combination of the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle--typically a soft and fluffy, hypoallergenic coat that doesn't shed. The traits of the Bernedoodle coat will vary depending on the mix of the two breeds, but it's generally wavy or curly. Bernedoodle coats can come in a wide variety of colors from black, white, brown and tan, to apricot or cream. The length of the coat can also vary, ranging from short-haired to medium length with an effortless, tousled look.
Bernedoodles typically eat meal designed for canines that are specific to their size and age. For example, puppies eat puppy formula food and Bernedoodles under one year old should feed on food specifically for teenage dogs. Healthy adults should receive a high-quality diet that includes carbohydrates, healthy fats, proteins and unsaturated fats. This diet should also include antioxidants, Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and other vitamins and minerals.
