Bernedoodles are a hybrid dog breed, created by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle. They are a loving and intelligent breed who thrive on mental and physical stimulation. Bernedoodles are known for their hypoallergenic coat and their playfulness. Some fun facts about Bernedoodles include: their unique color combinations, due to their mixing, they can have black, brown and/or white spots! They also have an incredibly strong sense of smell, making them great watchdogs. Furthermore, they are incredibly loyal, making them great guard dogs.
The Bernedoodle's coat is softer than a Bernese Mountain Dog's coat, yet still retains the same beautiful fluffiness. It comes in a variety of colors, depending on the type of Bernedoodle. The Mini Bernedoodle will generally have a slightly shorter, smoother coat with a light undercoat, while the Standard Bernedoodle has a thicker, longer double coat with a soft, silky top coat. Most Bernedoodles do not shed much, however the amount of shedding depends on the parent breeds used to create them.
It is important to feed your Bernedoodle a diet that is balanced and meets its specific nutritional needs. A premium, high-quality diet formulated for larger breeds is recommended.
