This designer breed has rapidly grown in popularity due to its intelligence, joyful nature, and its hypoallergenic coat. The Bernedoodle has a very loving, gentle, and loyal personality that makes it an excellent companion for both children and seniors. Additionally, this breed does not shed and is an ideal choice for people with allergies. Bernedoodles come in a variety of coat colors and markings, however, the most common is black, white, and brown with white markings.
The Bernedoodle's coat is unique and highly sought after. This breed features an uncommon combination of a wavy, low-shed coat with a mixture of the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle coat. This combination typically leaves the Bernedoodle with a beautiful and slightly longer coat that resembles the Bernese Mountain Dog but has a wavier, slightly shaggier finish than the Poodle coat. Generally, the Bernedoodle's coat is low-shedding and may range in color from jet black to light creamy apricot or phantoms colored.
Bernedoodles, like all hybrid breeds, can vary greatly in size and structure. Generally, though, Bernedoodles have similar dietary needs to the two parent breeds—Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodle.
