This breed produces a loving and gentle companion with a high level of intelligence, which makes them a great family dog. As a hybrid breed, they have a lifespan that is longer than the two originating breeds, often living up to 16 years! Bernedoodles are low-shedding and are great for owners with allergies as they mostly produce hypoallergenic coats.
Bernedoodles, the designer breed resulting from crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, are considered to be low-shedding and hypoallergenic. As a hybrid breed, they offer the best of both the Poodle and the Bernese Mountain Dog, including a low-shedding, hypoallergenic, wavy/curly coat that can be easier on those with sensitive allergies or asthma.
Feeding a Bernedoodle requires tailor-made nutrition to meet their specific dietary needs. Your Bernedoodle should be given a high-quality dog food that has been formulated specifically for the size and energy needs of the breed. The food should be nutrient rich, featuring animal protein as the main ingredient and with fewer carbohydrates than many other dog food formulas.
