A Bernedoodle is a crossbreed between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Standard Poodle. It is a hybrid that combines the best features of both the parent breeds. Usuallu black and white, they usually have a low to non-shedding coat, combining the intelligence and trainability of the Poodle with the loyalty, athleticism and good nature of the Enterneese Mountain Dog. They don't require as much exercise as a typical Mountain Dog, and are generally gentle, loving dogs that make excellent companion animals.
The Bernedoodle coat is unique in its appearance. Depending on which parent breed the Bernedoodle is derived from, the coat can range from wavy to curly, shaggy to straight, or even a combination of those types. In addition, the thickness of the coat can be either lightweight or heavy-duty, depending on the climate of where the pup is located. Generally, the Bernedoodle coat is low shedding and hypoallergenic, making it an ideal pet for families with allergies.
Bernedoodles have some special dietary needs, relative to other breeds. Owing to the sometimes larger size of Bernedoodles relative to other breeds, they require more food.
