Bernedoodles are a unique designer breed of the hybrid between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. They are known for their friendly and outgoing personality, as well as their intelligence, which makes them very trainable. Bernedoodles are incredibly social and are great for families, as well as being excellent watchdogs. They have a unique structure with their beanie-style head and long, thick double-coat that may be either straight, wavy, or curly. They usually come in one of three colors, black, black and white, and tri-color.
Bernedoodles generally have extremely soft and fluffy coats that come in a variety of colors. The most common being black, white and brindle. As a hybrid breed, Bernedoodles can vary in their coat type; some coats are wavy and some are curly, while some are straight and wiry. The texture of the coat is usually thick and plush, but can become quite coarse if not groomed and cared for properly.
Bernedoodles typically eat an ageand size-appropriate balanced diet. This may include dry kibble, wet food, and/or raw food, tailored to the individual. Depending on age, health, and lifestyle, Bernedoodles should have the appropriate number of calories and nutrients to keep them healthy and active. Generally, Bernedoodles need about 20 to 40 calories for every pound of body weight. They should also be given vitamin and mineral supplements to meet their individualized needs.
To best prepare your home for a new Bernedoodle, it is important to create a safe, happy environment that meets the pup's needs. Start by adding a comfortable dog bed to a designated area where the pup can relax, along with their favorite toys to take their boredom away. Be sure that your Bernedoodle will get plenty of mental and physical stimulation; set aside time for activities such as playing interactive games and going for daily walks.
Bernedoodles vary in size; it really depends on their parents' size. Typically, they range between 25 to 50 pounds when fully grown, but they can get much bigger, up to 85 pounds. Bernedoodles come in two sizes, standard and miniature. Standard Bernedoodles are generally 23 to 29 inches in height, while mini Bernedoodles range from 14 to 22 inches tall.
