Cavapoos are a designer breed of dog and have been around for about twenty years. The Cavapoo is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a Poodle. This breed is known for its intelligence and loyalty, making them wonderful companions. They are also quite small, weighing an average of 12-25 pounds, with a lifespan that can range from 10-18 years. Cavapoos are affectionate, loving dogs that adapt well to their families and make excellent family pets.
The Cavapoo's coat is generally dense, curly and smooth, ranging from wavy to slightly curled with a mix of texture and lengths. It is best described as a “puppy-like” coat, with a fluffier, softer texture than most breeds. Generally the Cavapoo’s coat is a combination of their parents; the Poodle and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The difference between f1b, F2, etc. when it comes to Cavapoos is the “generation” of the Cavapoo. An F1 Cavapoo is a first generation crossbreed that is the result of a Poodle being crossed with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. An F1b Cavapoo is what you get when you cross an F1 Cavapoo with a Poodle. F2 Cavapoos are the result of two F1 Cavapoos being bred together; this is known as a “backcross”.
