Havaneses are a small breed of dog with a compact, square-shaped body and a thick, curly coat. They have a spunky, friendly demeanor and are tremendous family companions. They have a very even-tempered, gentle personality, and have a reputation for being quite intelligent. Havaneses are relatively low-maintenance and low-energy, so outdoor activities with them can be kept to a minimum. They are typically good barkers and great watchdogs, but not overly aggressive or loud.
The Havanese breed has a long, silky, and curly coat of coat of pure white, cream, gray, silver, beige, gold, blue, black and Parti-Colored that can be a combination of any two of these colors. Its coat is of medium length and double-coated, being characterized by its soft, fluffy undercoat and a harsher topcoat. The coat itself tends to grow to the full length when not clipped, and when kept short looks like a teddy bear due to its soft and plush textures.
