Havaneses are a popular, friendly and intelligent dog breed that have been around for centuries. They are also known as the Cuban Bichon and have their own unique look. The most notable characteristic of Havaneses is their curly, fuzzy white coat and long, silky topknot. They are usually good with children and enjoy playing with them. They also love people and other animals, but may bark when strangers approach. They require regular brushing and grooming to maintain their coat and will typically enjoy being pampered.
Although many canines are labeled as hypoallergenic, the Havaneses is not one of them. While this breed of dog does not shed as much as other breeds, it does produce pet dander, which causes allergic reactions in some people.
