Labrador Retrievers have a thick, water-resistant double-coat that is weather-resistant and designed to keep them both warm and dry. This coat consists of an outercoat made up of straight and slightly wavy guard or top hairs that range from long to medium in length and an inner down coat made up of short, soft, under hairs. Their colors can range from black, yellow, chocolate, and fox red, with or without white markings or "flashing." Shedding is moderate with regular brushings; however, Labrador Retrievers are not hypoallergenic.
