Maltipoos, also known as Maltepoos, are a hybrid breed of dog that are the product of a cross-breeding between a Maltese and a Poodle. They are one of the most popular Mixed-breed dogs, and are considered to be a “designer breed.” Though there can be variations in their size and type, Maltipoos generally have a round or oval-shaped face, big round eyes, and a long and fluffy coat. They are also generally low-shedders, so they are a great choice for those with allergies.
The Maltipoo coat is usually quite soft and varies depending on the type of poodle it is mixed with--ranging from a tightly-curled poodle coat to a soft, fluffy coat that resembles that of a Maltese. The coat can range in color from white, cream, beige, apricot, silver and even dark brown. Generally the coat will have a single layer and does not need to be trimmed often. Maltipoos have little to no shedding, which makes them popular pets for people with allergies.
