They are considered to be highly intelligent and loyal to their “person”, which makes them wonderful and loving family pets. Generally, Maltipoos are eager to please and have a good capacity for learning tricks and commands. They are full of energy and enthusiasm, and generally do best with a daily walk. Maltipoos differ in size, energy, and personality, depending on the combination of the Maltese’s and Poodle’s traits.
The Maltipoo coat is typically curly and fluffy in texture, and usually quite soft and luxurious to the touch. The length can vary greatly, from shorter cuts to almost floor length. Most Maltipoos have a single coat, though some may instead have a double coat with wavy, soft under fur. The colors of their coats can be quite diverse, ranging from pure white to black, and even cream, apricot and red. The colors may also combine in unique patterns, such as shades of white with flecks of black or cream.
Maltipoos are a toy-sized designer dog breed developed by crossing a Maltese and a Poodle. Although they are not prone to any specific dietary disorders, they still have specific nutritional needs. Generally, Maltipoos need a high quality diet that provides complete balanced nutrition.
