Bernedoodles are a designer breed created by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle. They are gentle, even-tempered dogs that are highly intelligent. As they are a crossbreed, they come in different sizes, ranging from a Miniature or Toy size coming to about 10 pounds or smaller to a Standard size that can reach up to 100 pounds. In terms of grooming, they generally require regular brushing and occasional bathing to maintain a healthy coat. Since they are hypoallergenic, they are a great option for those with allergies, shedding very little hair.
Bernedoodles are considered to be hypoallergenic, meaning they are less likely to provoke allergic reactions. Equip the space with toys and a bed so that they pup has somewhere to safely call their own.
Bernedoodles typically grow to be between 45 to 60 pounds when fully grown. This depends on the size of their parents however, so Bernedoodles bred from larger Miniature or Standard Poodles could reach up to 80 pounds. The Bernedoodle's height can range from 9 to 29 inches, making them an average size breed. In order to get a general idea of the size your Bernedoodle will grow to, you can check the size of their parents.
The amount of walking your Bernedoodle should do each day is largely dependent on their age and health. Generally, puppies should go for short, regular walks at least four times a day. When they are fully grown, they need 45 minutes to an hour of activity each day, which can include two to four walks. Longer and more intense physical activity should be followed by rest in a cool, quiet area to make sure they don’t overdo it. This can help them stay fit while avoiding injury and overheating.
